RECIPE

Ingredients:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Mix well.
  3. Add the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into two 9-inch cake pans that have been greased and floured.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
  2. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  3. Use the frosting to frost the cooled cake layers. Enjoy!
